Kuhn Cutters EL Serie

There are various cutters from Kuhn EL Series.

EL 43 en EL 53 ground cutters

The EL 43 and EL 53 router bits are intended for small tractors and for specific use in viticulture, forestry and landscape maintenance.

Models:

• EL 43: for tractors up to 40 hp / 29 kW. This range includes models with working widths of 1.05 – 1.30 – 1.50 and 1.90 m.
• EL 53: for tractors up to 50 hp / 37 kW. This range is available in working widths of 1.00 – 1.30 – 1.55 and 1.90 m.

EL 62, 82 en 92 cutters

The Kuhn EL 62, EL 82 and EL 92 cutters are the result of long experiences in the field of tillage machines and were designed after years of research and development. Special attention has been paid to the following points in the design:

• The wide usability of the machine;
• The simple adjustment for the quickest possible adaptation to all circumstances;
• The suitability for the most demanding professionals from horticulture, fruit growing and tree nurseries;
• The reliability and the service life.

EL 122 cutters

The EL 122 cutters are intended for tractors in the 100 to 125 hp power class. Like all other Kuhn tillage machines, the success of these cutters is due to the particularly robust construction. With the new Monoblock frame, the Duplex drive and the side gear drive, these cutters meet the highest reliability requirements.

In addition, these EL 122 cutters are distinguished by their high operating comfort and effortless adjustment. With all models, the drive is reliably protected against overloading by an adjustable slip coupling. This way you can continue to work with confidence even under the toughest conditions.

EL 162 cutters

The EL 162 cutters are intended for tractors in the power class up to 165 hp. The success of these cutters is, as with all other KUHN tillage machines, due to the particularly robust construction.

With the new Monoblock frame, the Duplex drive and the side gear drive, these cutters meet the highest reliability requirements. In addition, these EL 162 cutters are distinguished by their high operating comfort and effortless adjustment.

EL 282 cutters

The EL 282 cutters have been developed for tractors with high power up to 270 hp.

To meet the requirements for robustness and versatility, the EL 282 has the following features:

• an extra large carter with oil coolers;
• a large and strong chassis, treated attachments, universal joints, tailgate;
• a new design for the lateral drive, whereby the seal of the lower bearing housing is ensured by a special seal;
• three types of quickly dismountable rotors: Cultirotor with L or C knives, for efficient processing of plant debris, or Cultitiller with FAST-FIT knives for laying out seedbed with minimal processing;
• a wide variety of rotor speeds (191 to 366 min-1).

Depending on the work situation, front wheels or different types of rollers can also be mounted to adjust the working depth. The EL 282 is currently the most powerful non-folding cutter on the market. A version with Durakuhn blades is also available (welded-on blades with a long service life).

EL 402 R cutters

The EL 402 R – 600 folding cutter from KUHN with a working width of more than 6 m was introduced to the market in 2016 after an intensive and long development process. It is suitable for tractor power up to and including 400 hp. The large rotor with a diameter of 550 mm and 144 carbide-coated, slightly bent, angled blades provides a fine, crumbly seed bed, which is necessary, for example, for field-grown vegetables.

Flattening has received a lot of attention during development:

• For a perfect connection between two work runs, the choice was made for pressure rollers with a larger working width than the width milled by the rotors. The overlap of the rollers prevents back formation on both sides.
• An overlap at the connection between the two rotors and two rollers is also created in the center of the machine. The separation of the two rotors is not in line with the separation of the two rollers. This ensures the necessary prevention of backs.

During the development, special attention was paid to the reliability of the machine. The drive consists – as usual – of gearboxes produced by Kuhn with a circulating oil function, reinforced drive shafts, heavy overload couplings, special seals and reinforced rotors.

The EL 402 R rotary cutter has a control panel supplied as standard. This informs the driver in the tractor cabin when an overload clutch is triggered or when the permitted oil temperature in one of the three drives is exceeded. Everything has been thought of to guarantee optimum working quality – under the most severe conditions of use.

With a transport width of only 3 m after folding in and an (optional) transport wheel, the EL 402 R rotor cutter is made perfect for transport.
